Are you passionate about helping people in need? We provide a community of care to those who are involved in the correctional/rehabilitative life cycle. Persevere is a national non-profit organization providing technology education programs to justice-involved, justice-impacted or at risk populations. Beyond education, we provide job search and job placement services, instruction in the soft skills necessary for the work environment, life skills education, mentoring support and entrepreneurial training for starting their own businesses and marketing their technology skills to companies nationwide.
Job Overview
The Director of Technology Workforce Development will champion the technology education of Persevere students to prepare them for well paying, in-demand careers in rapidly changing technology fields. This role is responsible for quickly and constantly evaluating the marketplace for those skills in demand by employers and creating educational pathways to meet those needs.
This individual should be mission-driven, strategic and have a growth mindset. They must be able to build relationships both internally and externally, listening and adapting to employer and student needs as they continually seek to improve our educational programs.
This is a fulltime, salaried, exempt position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, matching 401k and a generous paid time off plan. This position is remote, preferably located in a state in which we operate.

Job Responsibilities
Curriculum Development

Develop or source technology education programs relevant for today’s marketplace and aligned with current employer needs

Ensure that all client requirements for the organization’s education/certification programs are met
-
Develop and maintain admittance criteria, education assessments and intervention or enrichment systems to support student learning
-
Stay up to date with current trends in technology education and state and federal certification standards and continuing education requirements
Curriculum Delivery

Work with IT to develop, update and monitor the infrastructure needed to deliver the educational programs across all classrooms, physical and virtual, to simulate a real-world work environment and promote effective learning
Instruction
-
Lead the recruitment, training and management of instructional staff

Promote teaching methods aligned with industry best practices
Accreditation and Continuing Education

Lead the Federal Pell Grant accreditation process and coordinate activities, records and systems to achieve accreditation status and maintain accreditation standards, including the establishment of proper documentation demonstrating compliance
Career Readiness

Partner with businesses to prepare students for tomorrow’s workforce through internships, on the job training and career readiness programs

Oversee Career Readiness curriculum and staff
Job Placement

Partner with businesses willing to provide internships, on the job training and full time employment for our graduates

Oversee Job Placement platform and staff
Volunteer, Mentor and Alumni Engagement

Provide oversight of the volunteer, mentor and alumni engagement programs
General
-
Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders who can positively impact the educational experienceLead the data initiative for collecting and reporting student outcomes for operational assessment and streamlined reporting to current and prospective funders

Support the organization’s initiative to advance racial equity

Provide and participate in professional development opportunities

Support the organization in pursuit of business development initiatives and partnerships

Document critical Standard Operating Procedures and Workflows for training and business continuity

Support the organization’s behavioral norms

Work outside of assigned role to support organization-wide initiatives

Qualifications
-
3+ years of instructional or formal training experience and 3+ years working in academic leadership
-
Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in technology jobs and common technology educational pathways
-
Solid understanding of the infrastructure requirements of instructional classrooms
-
Relevant work experience in preparing students for job interviews and careers
-
Relevant work experience working with volunteers, mentors and alumni highly desireable
-
Proven experience leading people and processes to achieve organizational goals
-
Previous experience in a leadership role demonstrating the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
-
Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

A deep commitment to improving education and the learning experience for students of all backgrounds

Past success securing funding for an educational program beneficial
