Job Description

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic CompTIA Security+ Instructor to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training that covers the baseline skills necessary to perform core security functions in IT careers, preparing students to successfully pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

This is a part-time (20 to 30 hours per week), remote position located in TN.  Pay is $35 per hour with no benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures and presentations on IT security fundamentals, emphasizing the knowledge areas required for the CompTIA Security+ certification.

  • Design and implement practical lab exercises and workshops to enhance learning and apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.

  • Evaluate and assess student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations to ensure they meet learning objectives.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in IT security to ensure course content and teaching methods are current.

  • Provide guidance and support to students, assisting them in understanding difficult concepts and preparing effectively for the certification exam.

  • Manage classroom dynamics and ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Hold a current CompTIA Security+ certification.

  • Proven experience (2+ years preferred) in teaching or training in the field of IT security or related disciplines.

  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, threats and vulnerabilities, identity management, and risk management.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
