Job Description

Persevere seeks a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Adjunct Instructor to join our team in delivering high-quality education in IT Support, focusing on A+ Certification and Help Desk Support. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in information technology, a passion for teaching, and the ability to engage students in an asynchronous learning environment.

This is a part-time (20 to 30 hours per week), hybrid position located in Memphis TN.  Pay is $35 per hour with no benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course Development and Instruction: Design and deliver comprehensive course content related to A+ Certification and help desk support, ensuring alignment with Persevere org’s current programs and industry standards.

  • Asynchronous Teaching: Efficiently manage and conduct asynchronous classes, providing flexible learning opportunities while maintaining high educational standards.

  • Student Support and Engagement: Actively engage with students through online forums, email, and other digital communication tools, offering guidance, feedback, and support to ensure their success in the course.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress. Provide constructive feedback and personalized support to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Collaboration and Improvement: Collaborate with other instructors and program administrators to continually improve course content and delivery methods based on student feedback and evolving industry trends.

  • Technical Proficiency: Stay updated with current IT trends, tools, and technologies, ensuring that the course content remains relevant and practical.

  • Along with other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Industry certifications, particularly CompTIA A+, are highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT support, help desk operations, or a related area.

  • Prior teaching or training experience, especially in an online or asynchronous environment, is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual learning environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
