Who is Persevere?

Persevere is a national non-profit with a mission to reduce racial inequalities throughout all aspects of our society.  Persevere was founded to address the disproportionate minority contact and disproportionate minority confinement within the criminal justice system. As we have grown and expanded, we have focused on developing and executing strategies that continue to expand our mission of reducing racial disparities and inequalities, both as part of our work, and as well, our organization's practices regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).  Within communities, Persevere focuses direct service programs specifically within neighborhoods and zip codes that have high concentrations of BIPOC communities and/or the largest poverty and criminal justice involvement rates.  This is core to Persevere's mission, and it is intended to empower the people of these communities to overcome barriers to thrive.
