An affiliate of Vant4ge, we are Persevere, a national non-profit organization providing a coding education program that not only teaches inmates and parolees how to code, but also provides job search and job placement services, instruction in the soft skills necessary for the work environment, life skills education, mentoring support and entrepreneurial training for forming their own businesses and marketing their coding services to companies nationwide.
Job Overview
The Enrollment Services Coordinator will coordinate and manage recruiting and enrollment procedures for program participants. This role is located in the Middle Tennessee area and will require approximately 25% travel within the region. Qualified candidates will have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position with excellent benefits. This position requires the ability to pass a reference check, background check and drug screen.
Job Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned, especially where dictated by a specific grant.
Work with the Program Director, Program Manager, and Family Support Specialists to develop and refine recruitment and enrollment procedures that are compliant with funder and Persevere policies and requirements
Train all staff in all recruitment and intake procedures, the implementation of required assessments, and the use of assessment results to provide program services, in collaboration with the Program Manager’
Educate community partners, local government officials, local service providers, and employers on the Persevere program and participation requirements
Respond to inquiries related to recruitment and enrollment
Assume responsibility for the Persevere Recruitment and Intake phone line
Develop recruitment and intake packets including all necessary assessments, intake materials, participation agreements, and other materials as directed by the Program Director and Program Manager
Conduct initial interviews with all applicants to determine eligibility before forwarding the case to a Family Support Specialist for formal intake
Manage and implement all aspects of recruitment and application processes for participants in the identified correctional facilities, including coordination with TDOC and facility staff
Implement a variety of recruiting activities in the community
Comply with Program Director and Program Manager guidance related to job responsibilities; overall program priorities; programmatic reporting; trauma-informed, racially-equitable, and gender-responsive services; time tracking, invoicing, and reporting procedures; and safety procedures
Maintain accurate records
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business management, human services, or a field preparing this individual for the effective communication of the program’s benefits and attributes to appropriate audiences
One to three years of related experience, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
Experience working with corrections involved clients/offenders is preferred
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in electronic record management systems and ability to learn and use a variety of personal computer software
Advanced communication and customer relation skills
Demonstrated ability to provide relevant training to staff
Ability to multitask on a team and alone
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
