Title: Senior RF Engineer/Manager

Position Summary:

As Sr. RF Engineer  you will be responsible for ensuring the design, testing, project management and engineering direction on complex telecommunications networking projects including and not limited to network analysis, planning, use of software such as Atoll, Path Loss, iBwave for small cells, neutral host, DAS, Microwave, point to point, P2MP, WiFi, SCADA and other RF technologies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Engineering department, partner companies, contractors and customers to define the scope and perform engineering functions, coordinate the design, provisioning, installation, and commissioning of equipment solutions for FDOT, Federal/Defense, Municipal and Enterprise clients
  • Test and design greenfield and existing networks
  • Seek out and respond to RFI/RFP’s
  • Identify and maintain external contractor and supplier networks for projects.
  • Serve as a main contact for all external equipment contractors and suppliers.
  • Work with sales to create proposals, materials, budgets for new sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to equipment and network design innovation.y
  • Support and enhance a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) excellence.
  • Domestic travel up to 40%, as required.
  • Other job duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, required. BSEE or other technical degree.  Must have expert level knowledge of RF as well as telecom fundamentals.
  • A minimum of five years’ project engineering experience, including extensive client communications required.
  • Experience in government/enterprise RFP/RFI and estimating for complex projects.
  • Desired experience with macro cells, Neutral Host, RF/Small Cell/DAS other.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or other related project management software, required.
  • Experience in domestic as well as International project management, preferred.
  • Experience in managing field technicians, engineers and vendors.
  • Experience with VZW, ATT, T-Mo, Sprint and others

  • Must possess excellent time management skills to help develop, prioritize and implement projects.
  • Adept with preparing realistic project estimates and budgets.
  • Must be innovative, flexible and think creatively to overcome obstacles.
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, and very organized to ensure projects are done with superior quality, and on budget.
  • Must be a self-starter, assertive and persuasive in order to keep projects on schedule.
  • Ability to manage equipment supplier networks, supplier and contractor relationships successfully.
  • Excellent mathematical and physics fundamentals to allow for utilization of Matlab and other tools.

Organizational Framework:

  • This position reports to the VP or Director of Engineering.
  • This position has no direct reports.
  • Advises, leads, consults and coordinates with:
  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Engineers and designers
  • Sales staff
  • Marketing staff
  • Consultants

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Working environment may be in data centers, cell sites, military bases and enterprise offices. The job requires some physical work that can involve routine lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, and standing for long hours.
  • Must be able to carry at least 25 lbs of equipment for up to four hours
  • Must be able to walk unassisted up to 5 miles
  • Extended time on a computer – repetitive motion.
  • Must be capable and eligible for both domestic and international travel.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check, and able to pass a government Secret or TS if required.
