Software Developer


Time Study is seeking a Software Developer to join our IT/Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing enterprise web and mobile software and in building innovative, high-quality and high-performance solutions.

Primary Responsibility

  • Manages our backend infrastructure.

  • Recommend and implement codebase changes that improve stability, performance and support the scalability necessary to support future business growth

  • Maintain overall system architecture, including data relationships between our front-end systems and third-party solutions.

  • Enterprise database development and data management.

  • Develop high performance, secure APIs.

  • Identify and define integration points with third-party solutions.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate algorithms into the platform.

  • Participate in architectural design sessions and product discussions.

  • Ensure scalable design and architecture for the mobile domain.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, open-source libraries and provide recommendations.

  • Participate in code reviews, developer meetings, stand-up meetings, and relevant technology business partner meetings.

  • Provide technical assistance to Help Desk Services in analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting issues affecting the customer experience or business operations. Document and test user interactions. Work closely with team members to test and launch new features.

  • Stay abreast of data privacy & security regulations and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulations governing patient confidentiality and data security.

Technology Stack

SQL SERVER, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Azure, PowerShell, TSQL, Web Services

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience with solid experience in back-end development (bonus: machine learning)

  • Experience with developing user authentication and authorization solutions and knowledge of security compliance is a plus.  Experience developing solutions for OAuth, SAML, Two-Factor or Custom Authentication Schemes

  • Deep knowledge of API (REST, SOAP), API Management, Microservices, continuous integration, and deployment

  • Experienced with Visual Studio, ASP.NET and with object-oriented languages like C++, C#, and Python.

  • Strong database development experience (SQL SERVER) and a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

  • Works well in an agile software engineering environment (source code control, development-to-production release cycle, testing, and continuous deployment)

  • Experience developing multi-threaded and high-performance software.

  • Ability to pick up new tools and technologies as needed

  • Ability to effectively manage time and work on cross-disciplinary teams

  • Ability (and preference) to work in an Agile environment.


Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in developing enterprise health and research applications and understanding of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

  • Hands-on experiences with machine learning and optimization algorithms.
