Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, Accounting Manager who thrives in a fast-paced tech environment. Objectives: 

  • Core Accounting: Ensure that accounting records are complete and accurate and that the corresponding financial statements are prepared in compliance with US GAAP. Also, develop and maintain finance and accounting policies and procedures in accordance with best practices. 
  • Systems: Maintain and implement accounting software systems such as NetSuite, along with modules for shipping, accounts payable automation, etc. 
  • Administration: Oversee junior staff accountant to ensure that all work is completed as necessary to achieve overall accounting objectives 
  • Reporting and FP&A: Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting as well as financial planning and analysis, including supporting the annual budgeting process 
  • Controls: Maintain necessary internal financial controls 
  • Management: Manage and mentor a small team of Staff Accountants. 
  • HR and Payroll: support various HR processes as assigned by the CFO; manage payroll processing activities 
      

Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee and manage the month end close process including the ownership of the close calendar and allocation of resources and coordination with cross-functional teams 
  • Accurately prepare journal entries and account reconciliations 
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements including consolidations and financial reporting 
  • Perform financial statement analytics and provide support relating to monthly fluctuations compared to budget 
  • Own the annual financial statements audit and manage the relationship with the external auditors 
  • Oversee the reconciliation of ledger and sub-ledger accounts and assist with special projects 
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants and ensure timely filing of tax returns 
  • Assess and establish effective and efficient internal controls including documentation of accounting policies and procedures 
  • Assist with HR and payroll duties such as processing recurring payroll and related process as necessary 

  

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with track record of taking on progressively higher responsibilities 
  • Previous experience in a VC or PE backed company a plus 
  • Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles 
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred 
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is preferred 
  • Experience with NetSuite is ideal. Willingness to gain in depth knowledge of accounting software is required. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. 
  • Tech savvy with software implementation experience a plus
