Postsecondary Success and Community Action Coordinator

The C5 Youth Foundation of Texas (C5TX), part of the C5 National Association. is a five-year youth leadership development program to change the odds for high-potential youth, inspiring them to pursue personal success and preparing them for leadership roles in college, work, and their communities. Our goal is to equip our young people with the tools and resources to graduate high school, identify future goals, enroll in a post-secondary institution, and become leaders in their community. 

 

The Postsecondary Success and Community Action (PSCA) Coordinator manages year-round programs for participants, ensuring consistency with the mission, culture, strategic plan, and philosophy of C5 Youth Foundation of Texas. The Coordinator designs and executes experiences for youth, including signature summer experiences, weekend events, workshops, and activities throughout the school year. The PSCA Coordinator is responsible for overseeing delivery of curriculum and college and career preparation activities consistent with C5 Texas outcomes. In addition, the PSCA Coordinator serves as a member of the program team, working together to deliver college, career, and community action experiences for all C5 Texas youth. 

 

 

The PSCA Coordinator is responsible for overseeing delivery of a comprehensive curriculum during signature summer experiences and at weekend events throughout the school year, to guide all students in their high school class selection, academic success, and extracurricular involvement.  In the early years, youth experience college and career exposure activities as a part of their pathways and summer camp activities. In the later years, youth are exposed, engaged, and supported through college and career opportunities such as the Road to College Tour, ACT Now Summit, and the yearly Leadership Summit held for all C5 Leaders. The PSCA Coordinator will lead and manage pathway educational sessions, Road to College Tour, ACT Now Summit for youth grades 10, 11 and 12, and plan and coordinate the Leadership Summit and Graduation for all C5 Leaders and participants. The PSCA coordinator is also a part of the C5 selection team, working with our community partners, students, and families to recruit and select new teens to join an incoming class each year.

      Ability to lift 40 pounds and carry a distance of 50 or more feet

Education & Experience

      Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field 

      2 years of experience coaching first-generation college students through the college application process

      Experience developing trusting relationships with high school students from diverse backgrounds

      Experience in group facilitation and experiential learning
