Turnstone Biologics (“Turnstone”), a privately held clinical stage biotech company, is developing breakthrough cancer immunotherapies by advancing two leading and complementary platforms that drive innate and adaptive tumor immunity, to provide benefit to the millions of cancer patients underserved by current treatment options. Turnstone’s proprietary vaccinia virus platform is engineered to drive coordinated immune activation, potent viral activity, and local expression of encoded therapeutics. The innovative TIL cell therapy platform leverages clinically validated treatment protocols and has been specifically designed to extend beyond the use of bulk TILs to enrich for the most relevant T-cells for tumor eradication, preserving broad antigen diversity and minimizing time to treatment for patients. The Company has an ongoing Phase 1/2a trial in solid tumors (RAPTOR) for its leading oncolytic virus candidate, RIVAL-01, and is expecting to file an IND for the lead TIL therapy candidate, TIDAL-01, in 2021.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to track clinical sample shipping logistics from the site to the central lab and through to end vendors as part of a complex global clinical trial, including (but not limited to) monitoring scheduling of high priority shipments, shipment pick-up, in-transit, shipment delays and delivery.  
• Prepare sample lists for biomarker analysis to submit to central lab for retrieval and shipment to end vendors. 
• Monitor kit inventories and bulk supplies (for quantity and expiration dates) at clinical sites appropriate to the approved protocol version for the specific region. Track outbound shipments of kits and bulk supplies to clinical sites globally.
• Maintain clinical sample database including current sample status from collection through to data delivery from end vendors according to established data transfer agreements.
• Perform reconciliation of sample inventory and query resolution reports. Assist with resolution of queries from central lab and end vendors.
• Relay sample logistics or collection kit issues in a timely manner to Translational Medicine/Clinical Operations teams as needed. 

 

Skills:

• BSc degree in life sciences preferred, an equivalent combination of education and work experience in an industry or clinical setting will be considered
• Prior experience shipping time-critical and temperature-controlled biological samples, both domestically and internationally, with various couriers is an asset
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain the integrity and accuracy of various inventories/databases and associated records are essential
• Superior working knowledge of MS Excel is necessary
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills to focus and deliver on time-sensitive objectives are critical
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently and collaboratively with members of the Translational Medicine and Clinical Operations teams is essential
• Willingness to learn, execute on given directions and contribute in a fast-paced environment across multiple programs is important
