The Building and Grounds Supervisor is responsible for maintaining proper care for the buildings and SJI property, including general building maintenance and physical repairs. Supervises the maintenance, restoration, renovation, and upkeep of all of the organization's buildings, mechanical systems, and grounds. May supervise one or more maintenance employees or volunteers. The position is reports to the Chief of Staff. The position is located in Englewood, CO. The Building and Grounds Supervisor role is part time and has potential to expand to full-time to meet the needs of our growing organization. Building hours are 8:30am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the buildings and property
Replenish facility supplies where needed, maintain inventory of supplies
Perform daily inspections of the property for safety and security
Open and close the building
Manage and complete maintenance requests from SJI staff
Complete tasks according to maintenance calendar to ensure insurance compliance standards
Prepare expense requests and reimbursements for purchases of routine supplies and materials
Set up and clean up for events
Assist on-site facility renters during events
Troubleshoot safety hazards, property damage, physical repairs and property improvements
Run errands for delivery and pick-ups, including airport transportation
Initiate regular communication about project progress with supervisor
Optimize storage solutions on property including theft protection solutions
Work with team to identify gaps in building procedures and contribute to writing the procedures
Serve as the on-call contact person and respond to urgent building issues
Serve as point of contact for vendors who are hired for snow removal and cleaning
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Education
and Experience:
H.S. Diploma
2 years of work experience in facility operations preferred
Experience managing work teams of volunteers preferred
Experience with electrical and mechanical systems and repairs preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products preferred
Experience supervising staff preferred
Ideal candidate will demonstrate experience with facility use agreements and rental agreements
QUALIFICATIONS
Motor Vehicle Record, drug clearance, and background check clearance
Able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds
Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping techniques
Excellent organizational skills
Self-starter who can proactively anticipate building needs
Effective communicator with all levels of staff
Ability to be flexible, and multi-task in a fast-changing environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to resolve conflicts while remaining calm, rational, and professional
Willing to take on new tasks as assigned
Occasional work on weekends for special events
Moral life according to the teachings of the Catholic Church
