Finance and Operations position at a new real estate investment firm focused on investing in Qualified Opportunity Zones across the US.  This position will work closely with the Managing Partners, Investment and Finance teams.  We are currently building out our firm and filing for our RIA, and the job initially will be related to this build-out and then, over time, the ongoing support of the Finance / Operations / Accounting / Tax / Audit / HR processes. 

We are a very technology-forward and process-oriented organization, and we are looking for like-minded people to help with the build-out of our platform as we scale.  As we are a new fund, applicants should have a very flexible and entrepreneurial attitude and be willing to take on any task presented to them. 

Typical tasks will include:

  • Designing and implementing processes to support a real estate investment platform including: finance, operations, tax, audit, compliance.
  • Creating and supporting the on-line tools and related processes in these areas.  Ability to write detailed support manuals will be needed.
  • Performing ad hoc financial analysis as requested by the firm's management team.
  • General support of the overall Management Company.


Candidates should have strong skills in the following areas:

  • Accounting - ability to support advanced accounting of the management company in QuickBooks Online, and provide oversight / shadow accounting of the fund(s).
  • Financial Modeling - ability to create ad hoc reports to support partner-level decisions at both the management company and fund levels.
  • Written skills - able to write clear and detailed memos to support management decisions.  Ability to write detailed operations manual as well as policy and procedure documents.
  • Real Estate Expertise - strong understanding of real estate investing and development.
  • Investment / Fund Expertise - understanding of how investing / private equity fund strategies are structured and operate.

Job will be located in West Loop area of Chicago.  An accommodation for some remote work hours is possible over time.
