StageBio is seeking a full-time Imaging Specialist to join our Marlborough, MA facility.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports all departments for on-time delivery of high-quality digital images
  • Prepares samples for Micro CT and SOM scanning (critical point drying and sputter coating)
  • Performs scanning of samples for Micro CT and SOM analysis
  • Assists with analysis of Micro CT and SOM images, as needed
  • Interfaces with all departments to ensure complete understanding of the digital imaging requirements (x-ray, gross photos, digital slide scanning, annotated images, photodocuments, and morphometry)
  • Produces photodocuments
  • Collaborates as needed to understand study end points and processes for optimal imaging
  • Interfaces with the Quality Assurance Unit to ensure regulatory compliance of deliverables

Requirements and Experience:

  • Ability to learn multiple tasks within the imaging department
  • Ability and willingness to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be capable of understanding FDA regulations, Good Laboratory Practices, and StageBio SOPs
  • Detail-oriented with both routine tasks and paperwork
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience operating/handling whole slide scanners such as Zeiss Axioscan, Hamamatsu, and/or Leica Polaris
  • Familiarity with different satiating methods such as Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), In situ hybridization (ISH), and/or Immunofluorescent (IF) preferred


  • College degree preferred (in a technical major like electrical, imaging, computer, biomedical engineering)
  • 1-2 years’ experience (or coursework) in a similar role utilizing digital imaging hardware/software preferred
