What you’ll be doing:

The Cask Technical Manager owns the leadership responsibilities for their respective team, in addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of their primary delivery role in the Consulting organization. They provide tactical as well as career guidance to their individual team members in support of existing and future projects. 

In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the Technical Manager must also fulfill all responsibilities defined in the Engineering Responsibilities section.

  • Manage the performance of Team Members

    • Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with direct reports

    • Conduct weekly team meetings

    • Perform quarterly performance review meetings with direct reports

    • Employee development and goal management

    • Training plan development

    • Manage performance in corporate performance management solution

    • Participate in compensation plans in accordance with corporate compensation guidelines

    • Manages their team’s individual corrective action and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process when applicable

  • Manage Team Utilization

    • Participate in project staffing meetings

    • Work with HR and Resource Managers to support staffing and recruiting efforts and to ensure skill set and capability of team aligns with forecasted pipeline

    • Utilize Resource Management dashboards to ensure team is being utilized as effectively as possible

  • Engage with Cask Leadership to resolve project escalations

  • Manage the recruiting, onboarding, offboarding and transition process for their respective team members

  • Participate in ongoing process improvement activities with the Delivery/Cask leadership team

Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the design, development and implementation of the following capabilities within ServiceNow platform:

    • ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, SecOps, GRC, HRSD, Service Portal

  • Support requirements gathering workshops to provide technical guidance, and assist with capturing all necessary functional and technical requirements necessary to implement the solution

  • Research and evaluate to implement sustainable and scalable solutions to meet customer requirements 

  • Develop Scoped Applications working with ServiceNow Studio.

  • Develop systems integrations and process automation with External system REST APIs.

  • Design, create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts and ACLs including advanced scripting of each (including CMS/Service Portal).

  • Design, create and configure Notifications, UI Pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, etc. in ServiceNow.

  • Work with product owner/stakeholders to build requested items and tasks using workflows to manage processes and meet business requirements.

  • Document and maintain functional business requirements, process flows and business use cases.

  • Participate in daily scrum calls with the project team

  • Provide technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for the development team

  • Support and coordinate scheduling and execution of releases, product upgrades, new technology deployments.

  • Contribute to building detailed knowledge transfer documentation including design specs, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, technical notes, and testing, etc.

  • Proactively maintain knowledge and understanding of the latest ServiceNow features and product offerings 

  • Participate in product roadmap planning

  • Identify trends across customer implementations to improve future implementations

  • Driving continual service improvement through establishment of best practices, reusable assets and refinement of the implementation processes


What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Services, equivalent military or commercial experience considered

  • Previous experience managing performance and compensation

  • 5+ Years experience in Professional Services or an Enterprise IT Experience in both an operational and managerial capacity

  • 3+ Years of Hands on ServiceNow Administration and/or development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to take a consultative approach to team and customer management

  • Ability to self learn new applications and tools quickly

  • Project Management, IT and other Enterprise Business Management certifications are a plus
