What you’ll be doing:

Cask NX Talent and Performance Management team is looking for a People Operations and Engagement Specialist who is passionate about People. At Cask People are First and you’ll be part of a team to foster an engaged workplace where everyone works to realize our purpose and values. Overall the People Operations and Engagement Specialist is a savvy, strategic and trusted resource, responsible for the guidance of progressive HR best practices in a fast paced growing company. Excited to create programs and initiatives that support the overall experience of employees in partnership with the rest of the Talent and Performance Team. The People Operations and Engagement Specialist will build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, partnering with business leaders and employees to provide a variety of HR services including; benefits administration, performance management, policy construction, and employee relations. Additionally, they understand and maintain various HRIS platforms and PEO systems with the ability to compile data, run reports and analyze employee data to help to guide decisions at all levels of the organization.

  • Ensure legal compliance of state and federal HR regulations and applicable employment laws; update policies and/or procedures as required

  • Own the data integrity in all HR systems, maintaining accurate data and documents, and ensure accuracy across other systems where HR information is required.  

  • Employ incredible attention to detail, accuracy and time management with advanced skills in learning and applying technology:

  • Build and prepare reports for HR and stakeholders 

  • Design, implement and scale systems and processes in a quickly growing company.

  • Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, compensation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations

  • Administer on-boarding, employee change and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee  experience

  • Coordinate, communicate and oversee benefits enrollment activities in partner with our PEO  

  • Respond to routine HR questions including, but not limited to; benefits, payroll, PTO, leave requests, employee relations, etc.

  • Lead the effort for ongoing continuous improvement of HR service delivery including digital transformation of HR systems, processes and employee document management

  • Assist managers in addressing employee issues related to performance, disciplinary actions, and, when necessary, conduct terminations and exit interviews

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations

  • Lead, execute, and improve elements of the core HR functions including Compensation, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Succession Planning, Training/Development, policy formulation, etc.

  • Help define HR programs to drive a culture of highly engaged employees in alignment with our business strategy. Enable organizational change through proactive and strategic partnership.

  • Extract and share relevant insights to coach and empower leaders to positively influence and impact workplace culture in alignment with our People First culture.


What you’ll bring to the table:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Senior HR role including compliance, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, training and HR project management or program implementation.

  • Experience working in a distributed workforce with multiple locations and/or in a remote environment a must.

  • Independently drives projects and initiatives; Oversees and completes special projects to include setting timelines, coordinating with appropriate parties, conducting research, developing and organizing information, and implementation.

  • Meticulous, organized, and a proactive mindset are essential.

  • Self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

  • Experience objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult issues.

  • Understanding of Key Performance Indicators and scorecard measures for People teams. 

  • Applied knowledge of federal, state and local laws and statutes for employment. Thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards.

  • Capable of taking ownership of issues, analyzing the root cause and delivering solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills a must.).

  • Experience with various HR systems (HR reporting, benefits portals, etc.).

  • Knowledge and experience in HR,  PHR, SHRM-CP a plus.
