Cask is looking for a Director of People to be responsible for oversight and management of people operations across all of our organizations. We are looking for an experienced people influencer with the ability to build, maintain, and refine the policies, programs, and infrastructure (Recruiting, Talent Development, Performance Management, Benefits, Compliance) that support Cask’s culture as we continue to rapidly grow over the coming years.  


About the Role

We are building our People team and are looking for a Director of People to work closely as a part of Cask’s executive team to lead the People Operations functions including Recruiting, Employee Compensation & Benefits, Talent Development, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Employee Relations, Leadership Development, HR Analytics, Wellness, and Health Programs.  This role will report to Cask’s President. The Director of People will interact with all levels in the organization through honest, and inclusive communications.


What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with Cask Leadership to helping Cask grow - a lot - over the coming quarters and years.  We need a leader that has the vision and insights to scale the organization (People, Process, and Technology) to ensure that we continue to deliver consulting and technical services to our clients while doing the right thing for our people (Coopers) and our organization.   

  • Manage the People Operations team to key annual, quarterly, monthly, etc planning milestones and ensure strong coordination, communication, and systems across stakeholders.

  • Understand organizational needs and create and drive processes, policies, and workflows that are compliant, efficient, scalable, and reflect Cask’s values.

  • Maintain standards and processes related to Cask employees’ (Coopers) lifecycle, including onboarding, change management, and offboarding.

  • Oversee total compensation plans, salary structure, and overall compensation philosophy.

  • Manage and administer all compensation related matters [compensation administration (merit, promotions, bonuses), salary surveys, etc.].

  • Set the strategy and implement progressive and competitive benefit offerings to support Cask’s physical, behavioral, and financial wellness.

  • Lead the evaluation of scalable technology to build Cask’s infrastructure including the implementation of a new Talent and Recruiting systems.

  • Ensure People Operations audit and control processes are developed and followed in compliance with Federal and State laws as well as internal guidelines.

  • Champion collaborative cross-functional relationships with other operations teams include delivery, legal, finance, IT, and leaders across the company.

  • Oversee and refresh programs for training, professional development, feedback cycles, and career growth.

  • Responsible for Recruiting and related tools and systems to optimize candidate experience and new hire success rates.

  • Manage and develop the organization’s HR policies and procedures.

  • Spearhead People Operations analytics. Assess areas of opportunity, determine approach, compile and analyze data, and prepare reports/recommendations to define People Operations strategies related to people systems and processes.

  • Be an ambassador of company culture and drive initiative to constantly build upon and improve culture.


What you’ll bring to the table

  • Independent self-starter, with the ability to effectively work collaboratively across disciplines, is essential.

  • Demonstrated experience in the various People/HR functional areas, especially total compensation, HRIS, benefits, and other people technologies.

  • Experience in and with HRIS implementations.

  • Flexibility and creative problem-solving ability are required.

  • High integrity and highly aligned with the mission and Cask values.

  • Ability to work at all levels - strategic, operational, and tactical.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications.

  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and unstructured environment.

  • Ability to lead teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex issues, and prioritize projects concurrently.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent required; 10+ years of experience in People Operations is required.
