Description:

 

As a Scrum Master you will enable cross-functional teams to develop solutions using the Agile way of working that integrates the business and technical needs.  You are a servant leader who protects and enables teams to self-organize, self-manage, and deliver creative solutions via effective Lean-Agile practices.  Your leadership skills motivate and inspire your team. Your management skills ensure consistent delivery of solid features on-time with each sprint. You support and enforce the Scrum process and other rules that the team has agreed to ensure rapid progress, engagement, and alignment. Your mission is for your team to achieve its highest potential in delighting your customers.


Your Role:


  • Provide ongoing facilitation and coaching that enables the team to excel at Agile development
  • Manage sprint velocity-related metrics
  • Run key agile ceremonies, e.g., daily standup, backlog grooming, sprint planning and sprint retros to actively manage risks and external dependencies
  • Promote joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues
  • Collectively with the Product Owner own creation and prioritization of the digital product backlog for specific digital solutions
  • Partner with Product Owners and Product Manager to shape the digital product roadmap and vision


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology management and/or experience on a scrum team as a scrum master
  • Certified Scrum Master is preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile software development process (e.g. XP, Kanban, Scrum, etc.); experience of SAFe is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Paired Programming, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a developer delivering technical products and/or software project management
  • Proven track record successfully delivering digital products using Scrum methodology in the role of Scrum Master preferred
  • A fundamental understanding of ITSM or ITIL
  • Technical depth of understanding deep enough to fluently converse with developers
  • Understanding of business drivers and how those relate to software delivery
  • Able to qualify for a U.S. Federal Government Moderate Risk Position
  • System integration familiarity using web services and other web-based technologies such as XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP
  • Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow ITSM modules - Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management or other ITSM application is preferred but not required
  • Experience with extending the ServiceNow schema to custom applications is preferred
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow client and server-side Javascript and the ServiceNow APIs is preferred
