We have an opening for Controller / Sr. Director of Finance at our Headquarters in beautiful, sunny San Diego, CA. To be successful in this role, you will need a proven track record of overcoming challenges with analytics-based, innovative solutions. The Controller / Sr. Director needs to be a dynamic, high-energy, team-oriented leader who will grow with the Company. This role will work with the organization’s leadership team to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained. Key capabilities include project cost accounting background, knowledge of Government contract accounting and job costing, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. The Controller / Sr. Director will report to the President of the Company.

General Description & Responsibilities
· Key member of the leadership team which sets the strategy and goals, ensures execution against the operating plan
· Responsible for financial and administration strategy, planning, execution, monitoring, analysis and leadership
· Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance; lead for monthly / quarter board reporting: perform and present financial analysis, variance to budget and forecasts, metrics and measurables
· Managing the processes for financial planning, forecasting, budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting, responsible for all Finance and accounting functions
· Coordinate and maintain timely financial close with financial analysis and reporting to the upper level management
· Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end closing process with GL account reconciliations and journal entries, allocations, indirect cost and rates, payroll and general ledger activities
· Supervise all day to day activities and the entire finance, accounting, and contracts team
· Manage the daily cash requirements, perform bank reconciliations and prepare and manage bank compliance
· Lead and/or Support audits (financial, 401K, DCAA, etc.), compliance (banking, IRS, etc.), and tax management activities
· Establish and maintain policies and procedures for proper accounting and financial operations
· Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
· Provide leadership and other managers / departments with technical financial advice required by them to out their assigned responsibilities
· Continuously evaluate existing processes and recommend/implement necessary improvements and efficiencies; coordinate with process owners for cross functional process execution
· Support for variable / performance-based compensation planning and management processes
· Daily hands on management that includes guidance, coaching, training and support to the accounting, finance, contracts, procurement, and facilities staff
Experience & Competency Requirements
· Proven experience as Controller, finance officer or relevant role
· Experience working in a high growth Professional Services Firms (PSF)
· Current knowledge of GAAP
· Knowledge of FAR cost principles, government contract requirements, cost accounting and job costing
· In depth knowledge of corporate financial and risk management practices
· Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
· Ability to work well with customers, auditors and internal team members
· Ability to strategize and solve problems
· Strong leadership and organizational skills
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Deadline and detail-oriented
· Exercises good judgment, leadership and objectivity to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results
· Experience with JAMIS or JAMIS Prime accounting software or other Government project cost accounting software is preferred
· Experience in Government contract accounting preferred
· BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field, with at least 10 years of progressive hands on accounting and personnel management experience; MSc/MBA is a plus
· CPA is a strong advantage
· Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
