We are primed to deliver that innovation through one of the best gene-editing platforms in food and agriculture. Pairwise has an exclusive 5-year research collaboration with Bayer to develop products in corn, soybean, wheat, canola, and cotton. In addition, Pairwise is developing new types of leafy greens, berries, and stone fruit, with the first product expected in late 2022. Pairwise is based in the start-up friendly Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.


About This Role:

We are seeking a passionate, engaging, ready-to-learn intern to join the Protein Science team for Summer 2023. If you are an intern pursuing an undergraduate major in: Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or similar fields, please join our cross-functional research team to help deliver the next generation of designed leads to the trait product pipeline. We encourage hands-on learning and communication to allow for growth in this area.

Pairwise interns each have a season long cap-stone project aimed at adding tangible value to the industry as well as receive guidance in career and educational planning. Interns will also participate in ‘intern-only’ meetings where they share their experiences and network with other summer interns at the company. We like to have fun at Pairwise, so the summer intern will also be invited to participate in company events and team building trips to share in the fun of summer in North Carolina.


Essential Functions:

• Following processes regarding protein purification and analysis

• Extracting DNA and submitting for sequencing

• Analyze data and effectively communicate with the team, and other stakeholders.

• Presenting data gathered to the Protein Science Team


Required Education & Experience:

• A student currently enrolled or recently graduated in a Bachelor of Science program in one of the following disciplines:

o Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or similar fields with some bench-level laboratory experience
