Plus, Pairwise is developing new types of leafy greens, berries, and stone fruit, with the first product expected in 2023. About the Pairwise Intern Program:

We are seeking passionate, engaging, ready-to-learn interns to join us for Summer 2023. Our Environmental, Science & Governance (ESG) intern may come from any number of backgrounds, including programs in science (Biology, Genomics, Food Science, Plant Science, Botany, Environmental Science), business (Economics, Finance, Strategy, Marketing, Statistics, ESG, CSR), or other related fields. Pairwise offers the opportunity of getting to work with industry leading scientists and professionals in a cutting edge, industry changing, food+tech company. Our interns will be integrated with our teams here at Pairwise to allow for hands on learning in a fast-paced start-up environment. Interns will also have season long cap-stone projects that will add real value and help the team resolve real-world challenges they are currently facing. We like to have fun at Pairwise, so the summer won’t be all work and no play! Pairwise interns will not only have “Intern Only” meeting sessions to talk about their experience and share thoughts and feedback with each other but will also have events to help with career and educational planning, and team building trips to share in the fun of summer in North Carolina. Essential Functions:

This is an exciting opportunity to help the Pairwise ESG team build and launch their first version of an ESG strategy. Activities will include:

o Audit the ESG landscape of select comparable companies.

o Auditing Pairwise top vendors’ ESG efforts and develop recommendations on aligned targets for Pairwise.

o Frame out inaugural ESG report for Pairwise. o Develop a tactical workplan for launching new ESG initiatives and reporting on them in the future.

o Help develop and articulate key baselines and potential targets for Pairwise ESG areas.

o Help develop ESG assets such as language for website, PowerPoint slides for leadership and external audiences.

o Engage with the ESG working group at Pairwise as well as the People of Pairwise Sustainability Committee.


Required Education & Experience:

• A student currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters or PhD program in one of the following disciplines:

o ESG, Business Strategy, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant fields.
