About This Role:

At Pairwise, our Software Engineering Team utilizes science, data, engineering, and information to enable us to build a healthier world through better fruits and vegetables. We do so by engaging early and often with our internal stakeholders to ensure that we understand their initial needs and continually reconnect as the business evolves. This role will be responsible for collaborating with a subset of internal stakeholders in our field trial & product development teams and other software engineering team members to define and develop innovative software and data solutions to meet the teams’ needs. Additionally, this role will collaborate with all stakeholders to define the scope and timelines for their projects and coordinate the project through the development life cycle to launch and beyond.


Essential Functions:

• Engage with internal stakeholders across Pairwise R&D to define their processes and assess the software solutions and data systems to support those processes.

• Act as a liaison between the stakeholders and the engineering team to ensure subject matter expertise is translated into tangible solution requirements.

• Contribute technical expertise to project planning and management by identifying technical outcomes, tasks and system dependencies, and estimating resource, cost and complexity.

• Ensure the delivery of solutions development deliverables and proactively communicate milestones achieved or delayed to necessary stakeholders.

• Contributes to the design and configuration checkpoints and peer reviews for solution configuration, design, creation, installations and/or releases.


Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science or related field.

• 3 years of relevant technical experience with emphasis on solutions, application or systems engineering.

• Demonstrated aptitude to successfully delivery solutions and systems from concept to deployment.

• Training or education in one or more of the following: software development, integration, data engineering, systems engineering, or analytics.

• Previous experience delivering solutions in the following areas is a plus: laboratory processes, seed production, breeding, field trials, produce sales, quality management.
