About This Role:

Pairwise is seeking a Portfolio/Collaboration Manager to provide long-term strategic, as well as day-to-day management of our relationship with Bayer Crop Science, and associated portfolio of projects in row crops (corn, soybean, canola, wheat, and cotton), in addition to future collaborations. The Portfolio Management & Collaborations team bridges all of Pairwise to develop and implement our long-term portfolio strategy, helps execute the near-term strategy by providing operational thought leadership to the project portfolio, and acts as key account manager to our external collaborations.


Essential Functions:

• Provide leadership to the Pairwise/Bayer row crop collaboration for both internal and external project stakeholders.

• Utilizing their technical and industry experience, provide strategy to identify and implement opportunities to guide efforts to maximize the value of the collaboration portfolio.

• Represent Pairwise and execute on the operational and logistical components of the collaboration (ex: material and/or technology transfers, IP filings).

• Ensure accurate and timely communication between Pairwise scientists, external collaborators, and management.

• Provide accurate reporting on: the tracking and status of projects in the pipeline, and associated financial resource use.


Required Education & Experience:

• M.S. in plant breeding, genetics, molecular biology, agronomy, or similar fields; Ph.D. preferred.

• 7 - 10+ years of experience in project / program / portfolio management spanning early-stage R&D to product launch.

• Minimum two years of experience in interactions/projects with external collaborators.

• Experience in biotech agriculture R&D pipeline projects.

• Broad working knowledge and acumen across the business (R&D, commercial, operations, regulatory, quality, finance).
