Pairwise is seeking to hire a motivated candidate into its Information Technology team to help support various company scientific and operation groups. We are looking for experienced candidates with the ability to work independently and as part of the team. Core responsibilities include supporting end users and working with outside support teams in identifying and resolving IT support tickets. You will be working with and learning state-of-the-art data storage and security practices. You will be continuously challenged in the ever-changing IT world and working amidst a culture where IT (and science) is fun.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Carry out installation, modification, and repair of computer software, hardware, and peripheral devices, and resolve issues within area of training and authority
  • Provide users with technical training and assistance when necessary
  • Gather details of technical problems / issues by user interaction; determine the source of error by leading users through diagnostic procedures; diagnose software and hardware problems
  • Resolve user problems by defining the issue, researching for effective solution, isolating sources of the error, and applying the right technical solutions to successfully resolve the issue
  • Perform installation of new IT software and hardware packages as instructed
  • Perform maintenance of IT hardware, peripheral devices, and equipment
  • Research technical problems and suggest correct upgrades, repairs, and replacement as needed
  • Refer more complex technical issues beyond own expertise, training, and experience to senior IT staff / vendor support for assistance; ensure ticket tracking of the issue until its resolution
  • Carry out additional and related duties that may be assigned by IT supervisor or Pairwise management

     

Required Education & Experience:

 

  • Possess high school diploma or its equivalent qualification, such as GED
  • Complete technical school training in computer technology
  • Possess two of three: A+, Network+, and MCP Certifications
  • At least three years’ experience providing IT technical support
  • Possess valid state driver’s license
  • Possess laptop computer hardware installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of principles, standards, and processes of technical support principles
  • Strong knowledge of networked environments and computer systems capabilities
  • Outstanding skill to assess the support needs of end-users and provide effective solutions
  • Strong ability to apply procedures, equipment, and basic tools in successfully repairing and maintaining of computers and peripheral devices
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Anti-Virus, networking hardware, MS Office 365, TCP/IP Topologies, Internet security, MS Azure
  • Familiarity with AWS is a plus
  • Good customer relationship and communications skills
