About This Role:

We are seeking passionate, engaging, ready-to-learn interns to join us for Summer 2022. We are looking for interns with majors in: Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Statistics, Plant Science, Botany, Food Science, Marketing, or Facilities Management. Pairwise offers the opportunity of getting to work with industry leading scientists and professionals in a cutting edge, industry changing, food+tech company. Our interns will be integrated with our teams here at Pairwise to allow for hands on learning in a fast-paced start-up environment. Interns will also have season long cap-stone projects that will add real value and help the team resolve real-world challenges they are currently facing. We like to have fun at Pairwise, so the summer won’t be all work and no play! Pairwise interns will not only have “Intern Only” meeting sessions to talk about their experience and share thoughts and feedback with each other, but will also have events to help with career and educational planning, and team building trips to share in the fun of summer in North Carolina.

Essential Functions:

• Contribution to the success of our Document Management System to design and effectively manage Standard Operating Procedures, training and general file management structure for teams.

• Gain experience in Quality Management tools, such as Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and auditing activities to help prevent or identify the cause of quality problems, document actions accordingly, and contribute to solutions.

• Identify and recommend areas in R&D pipeline that could benefit from standard workflows to provide consistent and reproducible results.

• Work closely with the Quality and Regulatory team to communicate factors for success to other teams.

• Network with and be mentored by experienced professionals in quality and plant sciences.

Required Education & Experience:

• A student currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters or PhD program in one of the following disciplines:

o Agronomy, Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Science, Botany, or similar.

• Some experience in a research or laboratory setting, that have had experience in developing or writing Standard Operating Procedures.

• Students who can effectively drive progress and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced environment.

• Students who are able to communicate potential issues effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization.
