Pairwise is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with proven analytical and strategic experience to partner with the CFO, Commercial Heads and Executive Vice President of Operations. This new position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has significant experience in finance and is looking to play a critical role in the growth and scalability of our organization at an important inflection point in our history, particularly in support of multiple product launches commencing in 2022. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual who functions with confidence and expertise in a dynamic business environment, managing multiple competing priorities effectively.  In addition, the preferred candidate will have experience with the development of detailed annual plans and budgets, building complex, yet dynamic, financial and demand forecasting models, and synthesizing data into actionable recommendations.  This person will have a proven track record of successfully being the finance partner to stakeholders across multiple business functions and will develop close relationships cross-organizationally with finance, accounting and business teams (Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Corporate Development, R&D, Customer Service, Business Operations, etc.) in helping to guide business strategy and initiatives, while also remaining mindful of the Pairwise long-term mission and acting as a steward of company resources.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare or assist in preparation of critical financial deliverables, including regular sales, P&L and cashflow forecasts, as well as dynamic scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of potential business and operating model shifts
  • Develop and report on financial and operations key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall business performance, conduct regular internal and external review meetings and provide insights to finance, commercial and supply chain leadership
  • Support annual and long range strategic and financial planning and budgeting process, including capital planning at category, business unit and corporate levels
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on a regular basis, assist in special projects, support the development of presentation materials for executive leadership and partners, and continuously identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Partner with Commercial and Corporate Development teams on strategic projects and contract negotiations, including:
  • Supporting analysis of new markets and opportunities, including conducting market research and financial analysis
  • Developing and refining financial models
  • Working directly with partners in the business to communicate key results and support decision-making.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including capabilities for developing and presenting analyses and insights to senior leadership
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to create reports and analysis using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Solid business acumen to help interpret and place metrics into context
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads in an ambiguous environment

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • MBA
  • Employ analytics and modeling techniques to conceptualize tactics, strategies, plans, and goals to optimize business efficiency and drive performance, positioning Pairwise as an industry leading, data-driven organization
  • Recognized ability to succeed in cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management
  • Learning agility with capability to learn and work in-depth in a technical field, specifically biotechnology and agronomics
  • Experience with ERP systems (i.e. NetSuite) and business intelligence tools (i.e. Tableau)
  • FP&A experience in food, produce, or CPG industries
  • Prior experience within a start-up or entrepreneurial environment
