General Description of the Position:
The Carrier Operations Part Time position will cover assigned loads, expedite the sharing of information and documentation between customers and carriers, and communicate with dispatchers and drivers to track the status of loads. The training will allow you to learn the dynamic logistics industry and find your strengths to build your career.
Hours are 8-5, Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity to work 3 additional evenings a week, if desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create relationships with a network of carriers
- Provide customers with shipping quotes
- Keep accurate records of relevant activities
- Ensure all paperwork is received from carrier
- Collaborate with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs
- Update customers on status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends in transportation marketplace
- Communicate daily with carriers, customers, and employees to ensure on-time pick-ups and deliveries.
- Enter load information; tracking/tracing shipments in the customers' software system.
- Schedule all appointments with receivers and coordinate deliveries.
- Field general customer questions; issue resolution.
- Answer daily track and trace emails
- Send updates to customers as directed in template provided by National Account Manager
- Collect, manage, and submit accessorial requests
- Daily tracking and updating status of loads via:
- Applicable TMS and applicable customer specific systems i.e. Navisphere, FourKites, BluJay, Transplace, Emerge, etc.
- Outbound calls to carriers – must be updated in R2X TMS
- Outbound calls to customers at requested times
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma (required)
· Reliable transportation to office
· Ability to work assigned shifts in office setting
· Ability to work in a team environment
