SHIFT: 1st  Shift (6:30am - 3:30pm)

SHIFT: 2nd shift (3pm - 11:30pm + Overtime)

Schedules and coordinates flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite production by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Confers with department supervisor to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods.
  • Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays.
  • Enters daily production totals into database.
  • Participate in the development and documentation of department procedures, and training, auditing and testing materials. (example: CQIT member ). This will require interfacing with department management and Process Control.
  • Ensure quality of product and advise if changes are needed.
  • Instruct and train operators on the various jobs.
  • Ensure that maintenance is directed to machines in order to keep production moving most efficiently.
  • Assist in training new employees in proper machine set-ups and monitor progress
  • Ensure that all finished work is processed to the sorting area once job is finished or as needed
  • Direct work and operators to ensure that turn time is met and set-ups are minimized
  • Ensure operators have the tools and supplies needed to be successful
  • Verify all work is in the correct order for insertion and all required stock is available
  • Observe operator performance and reports to make recommendation to increase operator productivity
  • Schedule and coordinate monitor employee break and meal times
  • Ensure machines are running as required at start up and shut down
  • Operate machinery as needed.
  • Monitor removal of completed Postage Analysis (PA)/ job ticket sheets from the Production Control Board
  • Overtime as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum six months to one year experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to account for all documents processed and shipped.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or airborne dust &/ or paper particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  All employees will be working in a manufacturing production environment.  This includes working around various types of mechanical equipment or in areas where industrial lift trucks are used.  All work environments that exceed OSHA's standard on noise levels are required to wear the hearing protection that is provided.
