Scottsdale Perinatal Associates is seeking a sonographer/ultrasound technician to produce exceptional images of fetuses and internal organs for use by the physicians in the diagnosis of disease, fetal anomalies, growth, and study of malfunction of organs.  The candidate must be both efficient with time while producing quality images. Only those with extensive OB experience need apply; perinatology experience preferred. Full-time, part-time, and per diem positions available.

Position Summary: Produces two and three dimensional ultrasonic images of fetuses and internal organs for use by Physicians in diagnosis of disease, fetal anomalies, growth and the study of malfunction of organs.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  •  Become an expert on ultrasound equipment according to specifications of examination.
  •   Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physician position for examination.
  •   Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to exam specifications, depth of field and other specifications of test.
  • Keys test data and patient information into a computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results.
  • Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
  • Starts equipment which produces images and records diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip printout or film.
  •  Photographs images of fetus and/or maternal organs shown on display module, or removes strip printout from equipment, to obtain permanent record of internal examination.
  • Develops preliminary report for each patient to be reviewed and finalized by providers.
  • Responsible for working with Physicians performing reviews to maintain AIUM certification.

Education/Experience: ARDMS/OB,  CLEAR & NT certification is mandatory. Fetal Echo Certification must be obtained within 1 year.
