The Mission 300 Accelerator is seeking a Fall Associate.

 

The Mission 300 Accelerator is a unit established by RF Catalytic Capital (RFCC), a charitable off-shoot of the Rockefeller Foundation, to help coordinate and advance the World Bank’s and African Development Bank’s commitment to help 300 million Africans gain access to electricity by 2030.

 

The Fall Associate position for the Mission 300 Accelerator will operate within a small team, providing contracting, administrative, communications, partnership building, and a diverse range of Mission 300 activity implementation support. This position will work closely with the immediate Mission 300 Accelerator team, the Power team of the Rockefeller Foundation, and Mission 300 points of contact within the World Bank Group (WBG), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL).

Program Details

  • This position is open to undergraduate graduate students only.
  • The 2025 fall program will run from August 2005 – December 2025.
  • This position will be based in Washington D.C. and is a flexible hybrid work arrangement. This can be a part- or full-time position.

 

Pay Range: 

$25- $35 hourly rate. This represents the present low and high end of RFCC’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience. This is a non-exempt position and thus eligible for overtime pay.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide contracting and documentation support to all Mission 300 Accelerator issued grants and contracts, including the implementation of technical assistance projects and national energy compact delivery and monitoring units.
  • Assist with invoice and disbursement processing in RFCC’s new invoicing management system for all active contracts and grants within the Mission 300 Accelerator.
  • Support for Mission 300 Accelerator staff and RF Power communications teams on public engagement efforts, including event coordination and Mission 300 promotion materials.
  • Support for Mission 300 and the Mission 300 Accelerator related briefing materials for the CEO of the Mission 300 Accelerator, and relevant RF leadership.
  • Assist with tracking various funding requests for compact delivery and monitoring units (CDMUs) from World Bank and African Development Bank country staffers.
  • Maintain and coordinate updates for a RF, RFCC, and GEAPP Mission 300 scorecard on a weekly basis.
  • Support the Mission 300 Accelerator team to update and maintain a Mission 300 wide staffing pattern.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external Mission 300 stakeholders, fostering partnerships that advance the initiative’s operational and strategic goals.
  • Create, update, and detail workflows and repositories for processes that track and implement all Mission 300 Accelerator funded activities to ensure timely preparation of reporting materials.
  • Engage in comprehensive data analysis and business insights activities to inform strategic decisions and operational improvements.
  • Partner with the Senior Associate to manage the content and action items for key operations meetings, including the weekly TA Task Force meetings, driving collaboration and operational coordination across the Mission 300 partners.

 

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate-level program within fields such as business administration, environmental sustainability, operations, financial management, public administration, nonprofit management, or similar areas.
  • Demonstrated passion for operational excellence, sustainability, and the social sector.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively across diverse teams and with external partners.
  • Collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and interested in how Mission 300 creates and implements strategies working alongside partners. 
  • Must be a proactive self-starter. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
