What We’re Looking For
Acumera is seeking a talented Linux Software Developer who develops, modifies, and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. The Linux Software Developer will work within the development team maintaining and developing applications on a Linux based embedded security appliance. The applications consist mostly of Bash/Shell scripts with some C programs and may involve socket and network programming. The applications obtain configuration and push status to our high availability network infrastructure. The ideal Linux Software Developer for this position has experience in working with Linux applications and development tools in a cross build environment. Strong networking knowledge and experience with Linux firewall is a plus.

What is Expected
The successful Linux Software Developer candidate will have responsibility for the following:
Develop and maintain Linux applications typically in Bash/C on an embedded Internet security appliance
Perform unit testing and work with technical support team in performing alpha testing
Debugging and investigating customer issues reported by the technical support team
Collaborate with the web development team to interface with UI components of the management platform
Working in an Agile software development environment, where compliance with secure software development processes is critical
What is Required
Strong Linux background, networking, and administration
Thorough knowledge and experience in data networking, TCP/IP protocol suite, and VPN technologies
3+ years of experience and proficient in C/C++ with emphasis on performance
2+ years of experience and proficient in shell/bash, sed, and awk scripting
Familiarity with network software development in the Linux environment
Familiarity with socket programming and routing concepts
Knowledge of network security protocols such as IPSec and TLS
Knowledge of Linux Firewall and IDS technologies
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience in building and working with open source software in a cross build environment for ARM architecture based platforms
Experience in GIT version control system, defect tracking, and peer code review
Good verbal and written communication skills
What is Desirable
Experience in developing TensorFlow ML applications
Experience with Xen or KVM virtualization stacks
Experience with Windows or Linux thin clients
Experience with Continuous Integration
Experience with Verifone, Gilbarco, NCR, or Radiant point-of-sale devices
Familiarity with Flexbuild/Yocto build system is desirable
Understanding of Amazon Web Services is desirable
Understanding of Linux internals is desirable
Required Education and Experience
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
Knowledge of Networking fundamentals and routing concepts
Knowledge of Linux networking concepts, network software development, and tools
Knowledge of VPN technologies
