Position Summary:
Excel is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to support the Company’s corporate marketing functions including brand marketing, property sponsorship sales and talent endorsements. The Business Intelligence position will establish and maintain data-backed strategic decision-making and associated processes. The role will be critical in providing real time business insights and supporting data to key stakeholders in order to analyze strategic opportunities with Excel’s corporate clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Leverage data and analytics to provide recommendations that drive sales growth, development and breakthrough ideas/activation;
· Employ qualitative and quantitative reasoning to provide strategic business insights, data validation and reporting to assist management in key strategic decision-making;
· Support key business functions:
· Brand Marketing – Sponsorship measurement approach/strategy; valuation of brand activation, data / research sourcing and insights; client-specific strategic analysis projects;
· Property / Talent sales – Source, interpret and analyze data that helps to advance corporate sales and strategy; oversee in-depth valuation studies on behalf of company clients;
· Oversee all third-party research and data inputs from market vendors, including syndicated and customized data;
· Drive and conduct research analysis for relevant business units;
· Support managers in data interpretation and business strategy;
· In partnership with the Director of Marketing Solutions, support business development pitches and help identify respective sales leads based on data analysis;
· Conduct assessments to ensure the organization maintains a pulse on the market and is leveraging the right data sources and technology to enhance our competitive advantage;
· Proactively identify business insights, trends and opportunities through data analysis, and work with business leaders to find strategic solutions;
· Lead interaction with business function leaders and managers to leverage BI function internally and externally; organize and conduct training sessions with the team on BI tools and resources;
· Conduct predictive analysis, modeling and data visualization;
· All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree required;
· Minimum 6 years of direct, relevant work experience, preferably in disciplines such as business intelligence, analytics, research or relevant data driven support roles;
· Experience working in a brand marketing or sponsorship-related role, leveraging data to drive brand marketing, sales or sponsorship decisions;
· Proven track record as a project management lead in both an internal and client-facing capacity;
· Strong quantitative analysis, problem solving and presentation skills;
· Familiarity with statistical tools (e.g. SAS) and dashboard visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).

· Deep understanding of specific sports and entertainment trends to be leveraged for corporate clients’ competitive advantage;
· Ability to transform data into digestible and presentable stories;
· Superior organization and ability to manage projects through to completion;
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences, both written and verbally;
· Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail;
· High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance;
· Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;
· Strong analytical and creative thinker who can solve problems and tell an actionable story from the numbers;
· Extremely proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
· Must remain consistently up to date on research, data and analytics trends and third-party resources;
· Highly responsive and accessible;
· Ability to work both collaboratively as well as autonomously;
· Ability to travel as needed on a limited basis.
