The Role:
THE WELL is seeking a Wellness Editorial Content Manager to execute a multi-channel content strategy that continues to establish THE WELL as a trusted resource in wellness. This individual is charged with creating content; conceptualizing, assigning and editing content for the editorial platform; adapting multimedia assets for use across various brand digital platforms; and working cross-functionally with our other teams, such as marketing, social and practitioners.
This role reports to the Editorial Director.
THE DAY TO DAY:
• Manage and execute a content strategy
• Closely collaborate with THE WELL internal marketing team on promos supported by digital marketing and social media campaigns
• Maintain updates to set of best practices for tone of voice and copy guidelines across the organization, guided by VP of Brand Marketing and Editorial Director At-Large
• Regularly review analytics to track growth and engagement in order to determine whether specific content has achieved its objectives and make recommendations to leadership regarding strategy
KEY TRAITS:
• 5-7 years of experience working in editorial or other content roles
• Ability to assign to a network of reliable health & wellness writers — and/or the ability to recruit them
• Prolific wellness idea generator — with an ability to filter news-driven hooks through THE WELL lens
• Experience assigning and editing fact-based health content, including linking to relevant studies
• Experience building posts in a CMS
• Understanding of how to build content to support SEO
• Ability to pull data from Google Analytics and other platforms to both identify “ownable” content areas and track the impact of the content we are publishing
• Agile and flexible with regards to changing priorities and business needs
• Comfortable “managing-up” in relationship to senior-level stakeholders
• Clear communication skills — both written and verbal
• Understanding of when to take the reigns and act as a project lead
• Ability to be decisive and communicate decisions clearly
