THE WELL is a modern membership-based wellness club designed for busy urban professionals in the heart of New York City. We recognize both the benefits of Western medicine and the wisdom of Eastern healing and have built a science-backed ecosystem for wellness. Our integrative medicine doctors, health coaches and skilled practitioners work together under one roof to build customized plans uniquely suited to each member and their goals. Opening summer 2019, the 18,000-square-foot club includes a full-service spa with steam and sauna, an organic restaurant, reflexology lounge, yoga and meditation studios, private training gym and classroom with innovative weekly programming. The Role

THE WELL is seeking a freelance Graphic Designer to work with our Art Director to develop creative assets for multiple channels and audiences. We are seeking a local (NYC) candidate to primarily work in person with our team at our HQ office between 30-40 hours per week. In this role, you will report to the Art Director and work closely with the marketing, membership, programming and operations teams to create and execute collateral that is internal and external facing, in the Club and online. The goal for this position is to create compelling creative for THE WELL members, potential members, consumers, partners and internal team members. Creative content includes email design, social graphics, event collateral, presentations, product packaging, image sourcing and membership assets. 


The Day-to-Day

  • Work on projects from the brief phase, to sharing concepts, to sharing for approval to finalizing files for print or web.

  • Concept, create and update collateral such as emails, brochures, invitations, social graphics, menus, etc.

  • Apply THE WELL branding to documents such as presentations and forms. 

  • Find inspiration and create mood boards for THE WELL projects and products. 

  • Manage the organization of creative assets, files and images on Dropbox.

  • Work with external partners. 

  • Research and source products such tote bags, paper samples, signage materials, etc.

  • Research and source stock photography. 


The Person We Need

  • You have a strong proficiency of Adobe graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as Keynote
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Design, Marketing, Graphics or a related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience

  • You have a strong eye for design

  • You display exemplary organizational and project management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • You are flexible, adaptable and comfortable with shifting gears with little notice to address priorities

  • You have the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and communicate effectively with diverse teams both at headquarters and in the field

  • You are able to engage leadership and build consensus for new initiatives
