Profile:

 

Supervise, coordinate, and manage all operation and department permit/plan activity in the division. Duties include applying for permits with the respective municipalities, compiling, updating, and maintaining reports.

 

Education:

·         Five (5) years minimum in supervisory capacity

·         High school diploma or GED required

 

Work Experience:

·         Five years or more experience in the utility or wireless services industry

·         Extensive in-field, hands-on experience

·         Knowledge of jurisdictional processes

·         Preferred good relationships with existing jurisdiction

 

Skills:

•             Obtain documents from engineers and architects to facilitate the permit application process

•             Obtain all required approvals for permits and acts as liaison between the company and each municipality

•             Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals

•             Review any plans issued out of the division for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy

•             Prepare check requests and process invoice payment documentation in coordination with the accounting department

•             Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary

•             Submit, distribute, and file paperwork and enter data for various permits such as building, design review, standard plan, plan changes, and amendment permits

•             Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, and permits

•             Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner

•             Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of permitting process

•             Prepare and maintain settlement tracking and production status reports

•             Schedule, attend and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc., with architects, engineers, city officials and various Lennar departments

•             Prepare start packages, plans, specifications, or documentation for Construction Managers

•             Monitor and create reports, correspondence and narratives utilizing spreadsheets and word documents

•             Coordinate with necessary departments for design review submittals to all municipalities

•             Manage permitting teams time and efficiency.

•             Manage hours and schedules for permitting department.

•             Manage task, assignments, and due dates for permitting department.

•             Schedule and conduct weekly department meeting to track progress of permits.

•             Attend weekly meeting with project managers and director of operations to provide updates.

•             Establish relationships with jurisdictions and maintain a close relationship with contact (Individuals).

•             Research and ensure permitting department is up to date on jurisdiction process, application turnaround times and special approval additions.

•             Create and maintain procedures for permitting department to ensure efficiency.

•             Perform quarterly/yearly evaluation of permit department staff.

•             Provide training of new procedures or city process to permitting department staff
