We are seeking a Business Development leader to oversee the sales, marketing and go-to-market strategy for our leading virtual events platform.  The successful candidate will lead all customer facing new business initiatives, including prospecting, presenting / demos, and closing individual deals.  In addition, this individual will have oversight and direction over key marketing initiatives towards schools, corporate employers and candidates to fuel engagement, registration, and event attendance.  The Business Development leader must possess a blend of business and technical knowledge; a big-picture sales vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build and manage a sales pipeline through active prospecting. Identify suitable opportunities through online research and conduct outreach via email/phone/InMail
  • Engage and pitch the product for all inbound / outbound leads
  • Provide presentations, product demonstrations, and general support to prospective customers
  • Develop and manage relationships with prospects and prepare proposals and contracts
  • Work with internal partners to develop tactical action plans to ensure achievement of results
  • Partner with head of operations on forward-looking business plans for new products or services
  • Identify potential partnerships, suppliers, distributors, and customers for new products or services
  • Direct and oversee marketing outreach campaigns to foster engagement and registration

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience with increasing responsibility in sales and business development required.
  • Knowledge of the virtual events industry and buyer personas highly desired.
  • Prior experience selling SaaS or technology, preferably in recruiting / marketing departments or academic institutions
  • Proven deal closer and track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets; dynamic and very eager to win team player
  • Superior presenter; outstanding written and verbal communications
  • Experience leading customer meetings
  • Marketing exposure to multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Self-starter and independent thinker
  • Hands-on individual possessing best combination of strategic thinking and drive to achieve tangible business results
