Overview of Interise:

Interise is a national not-for-profit based in Boston that builds diverse and inclusive local economies through small business-led economic development, supporting the growth of small businesses owned by entrepreneurs of color and small businesses located in low-wealth communities. 

Since 2004, we have provided more than 8,600 small businesses, 600 of which are Massachusetts-based companies, with our award-winning program, StreetWise™ ‘MBA’. Through this 7-month long program, small business owners receive the management education, access to new markets and procurement opportunities, peer networks, and additional resources needed to grow their businesses. Historically, Interise companies have achieved great success, with average revenue growth of 36% and a job creation rate 4x that of the private sector. 


Position Summary:

As a key member of the Programs team, the Program Manager (Partnerships) ​will manage, support, and build the national network of connected partners, creating common impact. The Program Manager will assist in the cultivation of public and private sector partners as well as ensure Interise’s licensee partners have the resources and quality assurance needed to consistently achieve our program standards.   In partnership with the Director of Programs manage existing partnerships, cultivate relationships, support in retention of current partners, and identify additional opportunities with potential partners and licensees. 


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and qualify leads for a license or partnership, particularly with reference to anchor institutions, membership organizations and city/state governance.
  • Manage the delivery of contracts between Interise and partners as agreed to and within budget.
  • Manage the communication, resources, and support needed to effectively deliver Interise’s educational resources, including instructor training and support.
  • Achieve annual licensee/partners renewal goals through strong relationship building.  Direct and coordinate workflow of significant projects and activities.     
  • Develop systems, tools, and processes needed to scale the quality of partner support. 
  • Serve as the liaison between Interise, licensees, and partnership institutions, representing the organization effectively and with strategic value
  • Use evaluation data to continuously improve the quality of program delivery by partners and assist them in achieving participant retention goals 
  • When required, supervise the work of interns and/or other staff members as it pertains to specific projects.    
  • Travel is anticipated to average 15% across the year.   
  • Participate in orientation, training, and on-going technical assistance for new and existing partner programs.


Position Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Participate in orientation, training, and on-going technical assistance for new and existing partner programs
  • Two to five years of supporting or managing clients with a focus on programmatic improvement and growth
  • Strong ability to manage, develop, and retain partnerships,
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to network, communicate and build relationships with a variety of constituents
  • Excellent professional judgement with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Works effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people, but also independently. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and desktop publishing software.
