Interise, a national not-for-profit based in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a  Public Relations & Marketing Communications Manager to help promote and amplify our work through a spectrum of media relations, social media, content marketing, email marketing, advertising, collateral development, event management, and more. This position will manage our online and offline communication with all relevant audiences while increasing brand awareness.

Responsibilities include supporting the creation of a comprehensive marketing & communications strategy for Interise: increasing national and local media coverage; developing and executing on social media; building our brand and honing our visual and editorial tones; positioning Interise and partners in the local marketplace; driving registrations for Interise programs; building long-term relationships with target markets.

The candidate for this position should be a hands-on, self starter who is passionate about both our mission to create inclusive economies and about implementing measurable and successful marketing and communications strategies. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Directors in the organization to ensure business goals are being met through marketing & communications objectives
  • Support Development of a full-spectrum marketing & communications strategy including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
  • Direct and implement social media efforts to engage audiences across traditional and new media
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
  • Create content for press releases, social media, byline articles and keynote presentations
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a regular basis
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting stakeholders and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
  • Coordinate the design of promotional material and distribute it online and offline channels
  • Craft and send regular newsletters with organization announcements, updates, and calls-to-action
  • Track ROI for marketing campaigns
  •  Monitor organization website and social media pages and address queries and comments
  • Manage vendors and guide all efforts to develop, produce, and distribute materials that communicate the organization mission, vision and goals


Requirements:

  • Working experience and demonstrated success in public relations,              marketing, or communications (5-7 years)
  • BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications or a related discipline
  • Connection to Interise's mission and passion for creating inclusive economies
  •  Excellent collaboration and project management skills
  • Proven track record executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Solid experience with social media including blogs, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Event Marketing experience
  • Familiarity with B2B and B2C marketing/advertising campaigns
  • Hands-on experience with web content management tools, like WordPress
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
  • Experience with marketing and fundraising campaigns on social media
