Reporting to the Director of Research & Evaluation, the Research Manager is responsible for supporting Interise’s research agenda. They work primarily with the Director of Research & Evaluation on research projects using Interise’s impact evaluation data, qualitative data, and secondary data.
Responsibilities
include:
Conduct
applied research identified in Interise’s research agenda that is related to small
business, economic development, and demographic trends.
Lead
on collecting and analyzing primary and secondary data.
Research
products include but are not limited reports, issue papers, white papers,
literature reviews, and blogs.
Design
framework and prepare content for conference panels and workshops; prepare
content for presentation decks.
Work
independently and within and across teams to ensure that research findings are
relevant and applicable; and that research products are accessible to a range
of technical and general audiences.
Collaborate
with Marketing and Communications for report production and distribution
strategy; and for preparing social media content.
Manage
the storage and archive of evaluation data and other data sets.
Position
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Urban Planning or a related social science.
Three
to five years of experience in applied public policy and/or social science
research using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Master’s
degree preferred and may substitute for one year of professional experience.
Proficiency
with statistical and/or econometric modeling.
Proficiency
in at least one statistical software package, such as Stata, SPSS, or R.
Advanced
proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience
with program and impact evaluation preferred.
Ability
to communicate (oral and written) to a range of technical and general audiences.
Excellent
professional judgment to maintain the integrity of Interise’s data and research
products.
Results
and deadline-driven with extreme attention to detail.
