Reporting to the
Director of Development, the Development Manager will assist in the research
and design of plans for developing external alliances.
Other duties include:
•Track and report on relationships with current funders and donors. Write,
submit, and track correspondence, letters of inquiry, concept papers/case statements,
proposals and grant reports.
•Cultivate and manage relationships leading to
making the ask.
Responsible for annual appeal, individual and
corporate donations and event fundraising/sponsorship.
•Participate in the development
business process, including capturing and tracking development data and
progress toward annual development goals.
•Research and Identify entrepreneurial business leaders as
supporters and donors.
•Participate in the organization of
special donor events.
•Assist in the preparation of response
to proposals.
•Track proposals and prepare reports for
foundation and corporate fundraising.
•Attend events as needed, representing
the organization to potential donors.

Position Qualifications:
•Bachelors
degree or equivalent experience in
nonprofit, political or academic fundraising required.
•Three
to five years of development experience.
•Ability
to secure funds from corporations, foundations and/or individual donors.
•Strong
written and verbal communication skills, including writing, proofreading and
editing ability.
•Experience
in identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with new funders and donors.
•Experience
in event planning and providing excellent customer service to funders and
donors.
•Excellent judgment with confidential or sensitive
information.
•Solid computer skills and knowledge of customer relations
management software.
