The Senior Research Associate contributes to cross-functional R&D and technical operations activities supporting the development and manufacturing readiness of the company’s cell therapy programs. This role is responsible for executing and optimizing molecular biology workflows, including -next-generation- sequencing library preparation and operation of long-read sequencing platforms, while supporting data generation for research and development objectives. The position also plays a key role in establishing and maintaining GMP readiness, including documentation, assay qualification, and process standardization, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to implement scalable, compliant laboratory practices that support future clinical and manufacturing needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform research and development activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support sequencing, assay development, and GMP readiness initiatives.
• Execute and optimize molecular biology workflows, including nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, and operation of long-read sequencing platforms.
• Establish, document, and maintain sequencing-related processes, SOPs, and records to support GMP readiness, method qualification, and technology transfer.
• Make detailed observations; analyzes and interpret experimental and sequencing data; and summarizes conclusions for project teams and leadership.
• Investigate, develop, and implement new methods, assays, or technologies to advance project and platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues related to sequencing workflows, instrumentation, data quality, and laboratory processes.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, protocols, SOPs, and other controlled documentation in accordance with quality and compliance expectations.
• Compile, review, and maintain complete and accurate experimental records; communicate results to supervisors and broader R&D and technical operations teams.
• Support laboratory operations by maintaining equipment, reagents, consumables, and general lab organization.
• May participate in scientific meetings, technology evaluations, and external collaborations, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and publications as appropriate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related disciplines is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a human pluripotent stem cell laboratory is preferred.

• Professional Scientific Expertise: Maintains current knowledge of relevant scientific literature, sequencing technologies, and industry best practices, while complying with safety, training, and quality regulations.
• Computational Skills: Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages such as R, Python, or bash scripting is preferred.

Office and Lab environment. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. This is an indoor position requiring the ability to perform experiments in the laboratory, and type and use a computer.
