The Role:

In a newly created position, Passage Bio is seeking a Director/Senior Director Market Research and Competitive Intelligence who will help position the company as a leader in the field of gene therapy for CNS diseases.  Initially reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will help lead the definition and execution of the near- and long-term commercial priorities for Passage and the company’s pipeline assets.

This is a compelling opportunity and will require an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to operate in an environment with limited structure. This position will be based in company HQ in Philadelphia, PA.

The Director/Senior Director Market Research and Competitive Intelligence is expected to apply experience and knowledge to advance the company programs to maximize the benefit to patients and creating value for the company’s shareholders. The Director/Senior Director Lead will lead and coordinate all market research and CI efforts across the organization including commercial, R&D and corporate partnering with cross-functional team members. In addition, the Director/Senior Director will demonstrate Passage Bio’s culture and values as they serve as a leader with external partners and thought leaders.  The ideal candidate will bring deep and knowledgeable insights to help position the pipeline and clinical programs for external groups including patients, physicians, payers and investors.

 

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

Create and lead early market research and CI input into company’s existing and pipeline programs including:

  • Lead and coordinate all market research and CI efforts across the organization including commercial, R&D and corporate while partnering with cross-functional team members
  • Develop and execute a competitive intelligence plan through robust methodology in a timely manner. Beyond data collection, articulate key competitor’s strategy to inform corporate and product strategy. Coordinate the communication on CI in an actionable manner. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand priorities, goals and business needs. Independently design market research projects, including methodology and vendor selection, to provide answers and actionable information to cross-functional teams.
  • Function as the subject matter expert (SME) on market research and competitive intelligence
  • Lead discussions with cross-functional teams regarding implications and recommendations based on insights generated. 
  • Presents results and strategic insights to cross-functional teams and senior management

Lead and direct external vendors to ensure cost and resource efficiencies

Here Is What You Will Bring To The Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required; MBA and experience in science driven environment preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, including substantial experience in market research and competitive intelligence
  • Significant global rare disease experience required; regional experience (EU/US) preferred
  • Extensive experience conducting primary and secondary market research with payors, healthcare providers and patients
  • Technical proficiency with various primary and secondary research methodologies
  • Experience developing and implementing a Competitive Intelligence strategy
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize data into an understandable narrative
  • Ability to lead and direct vendors
  • Prior experience in a small, rapidly growing company preferred
  • Self-starter who effectively influences across boundaries, builds effective relationships and who proactively drives projects and tasks towards successful completion
  • Excellent project management, analytic and communication skills
