The Role:
In a newly created position, Passage Bio is seeking a Vice President of Global Commercial Strategy and Marketing who will help position the company as a leader in the field of gene therapy for CNS diseases. Reporting the Chief Commercial Officer and in collaboration with the Executive management team, this individual will help lead the definition and execution of the near- and long-term commercial priorities for Passage and the company’s pipeline assets.
This is a compelling opportunity to be involved with building a company and a department and will require an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to operate in an environment with limited structure. This position will be based in company HQ in Philadelphia, PA.
The Vice President of Global Commercial Strategy and Marketing is expected to apply experience and knowledge to advance the company programs to maximize the benefit to patients and creating value for the company’s shareholders. The VP will build out and lead global commercial strategy teams including global marketing, new product planning (NPP), diagnostics and digital marketing. In addition, the VP will demonstrate Passage Bio’s culture and values as they serve as a leader with external partners and thought leaders. The ideal candidate will bring deep and knowledgeable insights to help position the pipeline and clinical programs for external groups including patients, physicians, payers and investors.
Here Is What You Will Be Doing:
Create and lead early commercial input into company existing and pipeline programs including:
- Build out and lead global commercial strategy teams including global marketing, NPP, diagnostics and digital marketing
- Develop and lead the global commercial strategic planning process and creation of comprehensive, rational and cohesive marketing plans across the company’s pipeline
- Understand and communicate requirements for registration, reimbursement, genetic diagnosis and differentiation for successful commercialization
- Translate insights from market research, scientific experts into clear actionable strategies
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on strategic initiatives including:
- Patient ID and diagnostics strategy
- KOL Mapping, Treatment center mapping and physician influence patterns
- Digital marketing strategy
- Market education
- Integrate commercial strategy and insights into the product development program including clinical trial designs, TPPs, go/no go decisions, and Scientific Affairs plans.
- Establish and refine revenue projections based on multiple scenarios / timelines.
- Partner with the CCO and COO on Business Development initiatives including analysis of market dynamics, partnership assessments, evaluation of commercial potential of assets and analysis of prospective partner companies
- Provide strategic commercial leadership within the organization
Here Is What You Will Bring To The Table:
- MBA or equivalent business experience required; advanced scientific degree or experience in science driven environment preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, including substantial experience in commercialization and launch of rare disease products including marketing, market access, market analytics and/or new product planning
- Significant global rare disease experience required; regional experience (EU/US) preferred
- Successful track record in new product planning and pre-commercial strategy.
- Prior experience in a small, rapidly growing company preferred
- Self-starter who effectively influences across boundaries, builds effective relationships inside and outside of own team and who proactively drives projects and tasks towards successful completion
- Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, vision and direction within a fast moving, challenging and energetic corporate environment.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to hire, lead, develop, motivate, and retain direct reports
- Clear understanding of global market access, pricing, and competitive issues and ability to translate learnings into commercial strategy.
- Business acumen and executive presence
