Our portfolio of rare monogenic CNS gene therapies is the result of an exclusive collaboration with the renowned Gene Therapy Program (GTP) at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) that provided Passage Bio with 17 gene therapy candidates developed in the lab of gene therapy pioneer Dr. James Wilson. The Role:

In a newly created position, Passage Bio is seeking a Vice President of Global Value and Access who will help position the company as a leader in the field of gene therapy for CNS diseases.  Reporting the Chief Commercial Officer and in collaboration with the Executive management team, this individual will help lead the definition and execution of the near- and long-term commercial priorities for Passage and the company’s pipeline assets.

This is a compelling opportunity to be involved with building a company and a department and will require an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to operate in an environment with limited structure. This position will be based in company HQ in Philadelphia, PA.

The Vice President of Global Value and Access is expected to apply experience and knowledge to advance the company programs to maximize the benefit to patients and creating value for the company’s shareholders.  The VP will build out and lead the Global Value, Market Access and HEOR organization. In addition, the VP will demonstrate Passage Bio’s culture and values as they serve as a leader with external partners and thought leaders.  The ideal candidate will bring deep and knowledgeable insights to help position the pipeline and clinical programs for external groups including patients, physicians, payers and investors

 

 

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

Create and lead early market access input into company’s existing and pipeline programs including:

  • Build out and lead Global Value, Market Access and HEOR organization
  • Analyze global market access landscape and lead the development of a market access strategy to ensure patient access for gene therapy
  • Provide input to clinical trial, establish need for health economics, payer engagements, launch sequence and international reference pricing
  • Understand and communicate requirements for registration, reimbursement, genetic diagnosis and differentiation for successful commercialization
  • Translate insights from market research, scientific experts into clear actionable strategies
  • Integrate market access strategy and insights into the product development program including clinical trial designs, TPPs, go/no go decisions, and Scientific Affairs plans.
  • Develop and execute key operational, pricing and reimbursement, and market access plans in each key market
  • Partner with Clinical and Medical colleagues to develop and implement HEOR data generation and publication plans directed at demonstrating product value
  • Develop Payer Centric Evidence Generation Strategy & Execution
  • Partner with the CCO and COO on Business Development initiatives including analysis of market dynamics, partnership assessments, evaluation of commercial potential of assets and analysis of prospective partner companies
  • Provide strategic commercial leadership within the organization

 

 

 

Here Is What You Will Bring To The Table:

  • MBA or equivalent business experience required; advanced scientific degree or experience in science driven environment preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, including substantial experience in commercialization and launch of rare disease products including market access, HEOR and pricing
  • Significant global rare disease experience required; regional experience (EU/US) preferred
  • Strong understanding of global payer environment including coverage, reimbursement, value drivers, formulary management and Health Technology Assessments (HTA) in key markets e.g. NICE, IQWIG
  • Experience supporting pricing and reimbursement negations with payers
  • Prior experience in a small, rapidly growing company preferred
  • Self-starter who effectively influences across boundaries, builds effective relationships inside and outside of own team and who proactively drives projects and tasks towards successful completion
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, vision and direction within a fast moving, challenging and energetic corporate environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to hire, lead, develop, motivate, and retain direct reports
  • Business acumen and executive presence
