The Role:

 

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for key financial activities including accounts payable processing, financial statement close reconciliations, booking standard journal entries, and preparing schedules for SEC reporting in accordance with the Company’s SOX control environment. The Senior Accountant must remain current on new GAAP and SEC regulations as they are released and ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.

 

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

 

·        Serve as preparer of reconciliations and schedules used within the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.  Record corporate activity and maintain corporate ledgers. 

·        Manage the Accounts Payable processes within NetSuite and Bill.com and serve as the primary point of contact for business process owners and vendors in the AP Process. This includes invoice coding based on review of executed contracts, and routing invoices for approval.

·        Prepare cash reconciliations and post activity on a weekly basis including the analysis related to employee credit card and expense reimbursements.

·        Maintain Prepaid and Fixed Asset subledger schedules and coordinate with business process owners in the tracking of schedules.

·        Adhere to an effective system of internal controls, procedures and policies. Maintain comprehensive documentation in support of accounting positions and conclusions.

·        Assist in the preparation of schedules used in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including, internal financial statements, 10-Q’s, and annual 10-K filings.

·        Assist in in the preparation of schedules to support budget to actual reporting and related variance analysis.

·        Assist in interactions with external auditors.  Work closely with the external auditors to provide audit support and resolve questions.

·        Assist with ad-hoc projects and analyses with the Accounting and Finance team.

 

 

 

Here Is What You Will Bring To The Table:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. CPA and public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting and reporting experience is required,
  • Biotech, pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a public company preferred
  • Prior experience in a growth company preferred
  • Prior experience in a cross functional team environment preferred
  • Prior experience in GAAP, public company rules and regulations, regulatory accounting and reporting requirements.
  • An understanding of Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance. Appreciation for procedure, process and operational excellence.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with corporate management and all other functions in the Company.
  • Ability to thrive in a deep team-oriented culture; promotes collaboration within the department; supportive of colleagues.
  • Strong computer skills, including deep knowledge of computer financial applications. Experience with ERP systems is preferred (NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify)
  • Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
