Founded in 1973, the Ohio Children’s Alliance is the oldest and largest non-profit statewide mission-driven child advocacy organization in the State of Ohio. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the Alliance provides a challenging and rewarding work environment for its growing staff team and is committed to fostering collaboration, innovation and professional excellence. Several programs and projects are administered by the Alliance, including conferences, training events, learning communities, and a provider network that contracts with government agencies and health plans. These agencies drive our advocacy platform, and system improvement goals, and participate in our non-partisan change-making efforts with policymakers. 

 

Position Description

Under the direction of the Director of Programs, this full-time position is responsible for managing a growing portfolio of programs that advance the mission of the Ohio Children’s Alliance. The Program Manager will be responsible for providing management and oversight of various Alliance programs and initiatives for optimal impact. 

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing programs focused on (1) access to Early Childhood Mental Health services (2) promoting career opportunities for Ohio Opportunity Youth (3) prioritize placement stability for difficult to place Ohio youth (4) advance best practices (5) as well as developing and implementing new programs and initiatives. The Ohio Children’s Alliance’s core values are Educate, Advocate, Innovate, and Connect. The Program Manager will exemplify these core values by being nimble, flexible, and committed to solution focused oversight of new and creative initiatives.

 The individual will have regular interaction with the Alliance’s management team and staff, Alliance members, external partners, such as the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (ODCY), Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS), Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), and private funders.

The ideal candidate possesses outstanding organization, communication, and collaboration skills, has experience building and leading social services or human services programs with innovation and compassion, including data monitoring and reporting, grant compliance, and continuous quality improvement, and serves with a high level of integrity, building trust and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a grant funded position and is contingent upon continued grant funding.

Qualifications (education/work/skills/knowledge/characteristics):

In order to adequately fulfill this position, an individual must have:

  • A minimum of five-seven years of professional work experience in social services, program development, health care, business, management, or a related field
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to analyze and report on program outcomes, compliance, and statistical information 
  • Highly organized, motivated, and efficient; has experience coordinating detailed processes, ability to manage multiple work assignments and responsibilities simultaneously 
  • Assertive, innovative, and collaborative; able to achieve continuous progress toward quality improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including direct supervision of other employees 
  • Proactively researches challenges and applies sound solutions
  • A commitment to advancing racial equity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to quickly gain proficiency using other software and web-based services as needed

Responsibilities (roles/functions/duties/ownership):

Under the direction of the Director of Programs this individual will:

  • Continually evaluate and execute a statewide program initiative strategy, which leverages innovation of OCA Programming
  • Develop and execute program implementation, including work plans, budgets, time lines and milestones to ensure efficient and effective project management
  • Contribute to programmatic growth and resource development
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert of program areas in which position manages
  • Further develop and execute marketing, outreach and engagement strategies for OCA Programming, its initiatives, and its partners 
  • Establish program benchmarks and target outcome measures, and strategies to achieve those goals
  • Develop and maintain an infrastructure for OCA programs, including sub grant vendor agreements who will actively participate in the program’s administration
  • Oversee sub grant vendor agreements, ensuring all agreement deliverables are met 
  • Maintain, review, and adjust program budgets as necessary 
  • Develop program policies and procedures, as needed
  • Ensure program materials are meaningful and up to date
  • Monitor, analyze, organize, and report on data/outcome information to funders, internal leadership, and other stakeholders
  • Partner with internal Data Team to coordinate data collection and analysis to support continuous quality improvement
  • Collaborate with other Ohio Children’s Alliance staff, program sub grant vendors, and our funding partners
  • Supervise Program staff and promote a culture of continuous professional development
  • Represent the Alliance on committees and at community events as needed 

 

Compensation:  $60,000 - $65,000 annually, negotiable commensurate with experience. Paid vacation, sick leave, health, dental, life insurance coverage, and 401(k) retirement program.

Work Location: This position currently follows a hybrid work schedule with occasional in-person requirements, including weekly meetings, until further notice.
