We are seeking trading analysts to observe and analyze our algorithmic trading activity and related technical infrastructure. We look to fill shifts during standard Asia business hours as well as overnight and weekend shifts as coverage deems necessary.  This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a strong US-based team with an outstanding track record.  You will have exposure to a complex trading system, and you will be responsible for keeping tabs on trading activity; you should be a quick learner, an even faster problem-solver, and you should exhibit excellent judgement and focus under pressure.  The ideal candidate has a very strong academic background, basic programming capabilities, and some familiarity with the financial markets.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor our trading and related infrastructure to identify, prevent, and respond to potential issues.
  • Triage outages and problems with trade flow, working with internal and external technical personnel to resolve incidents.
  • Write tools to allow for quick and efficient manual intervention in trading.
  • Proactively monitor for market/exchange technology changes.
  • Generate and analyze trading metrics to provide insights.


Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, economics, or mathematics from a top-tier institution.
  • 1-5 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, scheduling/automation, and databases.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and resourceful with excellent judgment and strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for emerging businesses & technologies.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills in English and in a second language that would be useful in Asian markets (e.g., Mandarin).
  • Authorized to work in Hong Kong.
