Launched in 2014, ImpactTulsa serves as a collective impact backbone organization that aligns partners and resources to improve educational outcomes for students in the Tulsa area. The partnership includes leaders from education, business, philanthropy, nonprofit, civic, and faith communities with a vision that all students are guaranteed a high-quality education. ImpactTulsa is a 501(c)3 and a member of the StriveTogether national network. Its 21 school district partners represent over 118,000 students in the Tulsa region. Working with its education, business, and nonprofit partners, ImpactTulsa compiles data and measures academic success to identify and share best practices from the region and across the United States that help students reach their full potential.

Summary

ImpactTulsa’s Director, Collaboration & Partnership is a part of the backbone staff supporting education throughout Tulsa County. As the Director of Collaboration & Partnership, you are responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with district and community partners to advance our work of continuous improvement for systems change. You lead our organization’s efforts to create the strategy, shared work, and innovations necessary for Tulsa area schools, organizations and institutions to succeed in reducing education opportunity gaps based on race, ethnicity, gender, income, and other factors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. In collaboration with district, community, and school partners, develop, implement, and support strategy aligned projects and partnerships related to successful school systems to achieve an activated and engaged youth and parent coalition, and youth-voice-oriented community organizations.

    1. Build trusting relationships with district leadership, principals, cross-sector leaders, and community stakeholders

    2. Convene and facilitate collaborative working groups (youth and/or adult) focused on school success

    3. Provide facilitation, strategic thinking, and project management to the activities of partnership groups

    4. Plan for how to spread and scale promising practices

    5. Manage group logistics, data, processes, and collateral

  2. Engage in rigorous continuous improvement processes with youth improvement teams/district improvement teams

    1. With support and co-facilitation alongside ImpactTulsa colleagues, equip partnerships with the data and analytics to know where and how to invest their time, effort, and financial resources based on CEI and other data

    2. Plan, execute, and monitor the effectiveness of our work with partners

    3. Facilitate and coach human-centered learning experiences with school district teams

  3. Be accountable for results and foster the sense of accountability for results in partners

    1. Work with partners to develop a set of performance measures

    2. Provide coaching for partners conducting improvement cycles

    3. Establish personal and group norms that allow partners to feel highly accountable

    4. Build team and community member capacity through the facilitation of RBF, CLI, and other continuous improvement for capacity and systems transformation skill-building

  4. Partner with ImpactTulsa’s data leads on school partners’ data decision-making, collection, and reporting

    1. Collaborate with the school team and with the internal team to develop and implement data collection processes

    2. Utilize dashboards and standard reports for the team and for leadership to monitor progress and systemic change

    3. Use data insights to adaptively elevate opportunity gaps to school decision-making teams or school strategic partners

  5. Responsible for tracking and understanding education-related policies and practices

    1. Determine how current education-related policies influence systemic practices

    2. Stay on top of research related to evidence-based educational practices 

    3. Help school districts and the ImpactTulsa team understand the implications of educational policy and practice change

  6. Supervise and support the Collaboration and Partnership team and resources, (consisting of two (2) Managers of Strategy and Activation, and provide direction and leadership

    1. Build and maintain teams that are diverse in knowledge, experience, talents, and skills. 

    2. Ensure cohesion across organizational strategies by developing aligned plans to advance our cradle to career priorities.

    3. Inspire excellence and create a culture of vulnerability through mentoring, coaching, and professional development.

    4. Responsible for ensuring your direct reports fulfill their responsibilities in alignment with the strategic plan and their job description.

    5. Manage budgetary resources 

Education, Experience, Knowledge

A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required. Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent preferred; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bilingual in Spanish and proximate or lived experience across cultures are a bonus.

Travel, Work Hours, Department

Travel Requirements

This role requires regular travel throughout Tulsa County, so reliable access to transportation is necessary. You should expect to travel to area partners as needed, depending on the rhythm and requirements of partner needs.  ImpactTulsa pays mileage and parking at federally recognized rates.

 

Work Hours & Environment

ImpactTulsa is a hybrid team. The team gathers in person on Tuesday of each week and works remotely, with access to the office on the remaining days. Our office hours are 8:00-4:30.

 

We office from downtown Tulsa’s Sun Building. Our office is set up in a coworking style with a reservations system for visibility and access. Our shared time together consists of mission and strategic alignment checks, reporting results and help needed across the team, reflection on self and our work, and time to engage as humans to build deeper connections.

 

Department

The Director, Collaboration and Partnerships is part of the Collaboration and Partnerships Team. The Collaboration & Partnerships Team works alongside our Policy Team as well as our Community Learning Team; collectively driving the work of our Cradle to Career Initiatives. 

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary for this position is $75,000 annually and is non-negotiable. This policy supports our commitment to pay equity by ensuring all candidates are considered equally and fairly, without disparities caused by negotiation. Our goal is to maintain transparency and fairness in compensation, aligning with our organizational values and financial strategy.
