908 Devices is headquartered in Boston, MA, near the Seaport and has a satellite office in North Carolina and a growing population of remote staff worldwide.

Position Summary:

Working in our Accounting department, you will learn about our reporting, trend and ad-hoc analysis, accounting function and how we turn numbers into action.   

The Accounting co-op will gain valuable experience in a hybrid role reporting to the Director, SEC & Internal Controls, and the Controller at 908 Devices.  You will gain insight and make direct contributions working on a variety of projects that impact the business strategy while providing key analytical support on critical finance initiatives.  You will be mentored by your managers while working in collaboration with the finance team in a hand-on learning environment.  This is a Boston based role with some remote flexibility. Students who are interested in working in Financial Reporting, Financial Controls and Corporate Accounting are encouraged to apply.  

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Perform monthly and quarterly accounting close functions 

  • Manage financial initiative projects 

  • Work on Internal Control implementation and policy documentation 

  • Contribute to ongoing projects to be used in developing the 908 Devices SEC Reporting function 

  • Work cross functionally with other 908 Teams, including, Engineering, Operations, HR, Sales and Marketing 

  • Assist Accounting on an ad-hoc basis 

  • Work with all levels of Management 

Key Skills & Qualifications:  

  • A passion for Finance & Accounting and desire to learn 

  • Detail oriented and naturally curious 

  • Well defined quantitative and analytical skills 

  • High proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, charts, v-look up) 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Junior and Senior preferred 

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another relevant field
