Position Summary:
The Tableau Developer and Data Lead is responsible for supporting the implementation and development of Tableau within 908. The position will oversee the use of Tableau data visualization and business intelligence software and includes adding and monitoring site users and data sources such as Netsuite and SFDC. This role will be critical in enhancing reporting and analysis by developing data visualizations. Support the team with documentation, requirements analysis, testing and implementations to help solve and automate complex business challenges. This role will focus on supporting Finance and act as a liaison between Finance and the broader organization, including third party IT services. This role will work closely with stakeholders and business relationship managers across the entire company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design dashboards, ad-hoc report generation, and analytics to drive key business decisions using SQL/Netsuite coding and Tableau. Assign permissions for users, create groups for specific projects, turn data into visual representations with views and workbooks, and monitor activity on the Tableau server.
- Responsibilities also include upgrading software when necessary and working to run extract refreshes to update the data representations.
- Collaborate and partner with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. Establish deep effective partnerships to translate stakeholder needs into reporting deliverables.
- Use existing procedures and data to solve routine problems or conduct routine analyses as well as record and present recommended improvements and evidence of findings.
- Provide SME support to various teams to successfully accomplish common goals and work closely with clients to ensure accuracy, accessibility and continuity of data and reporting.
- Responsible for training people on new processes and/or reporting/dashboards. Function as the champion / advocate for the new developments.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to provide improvements to current manual or complex processes and solutions.
- Experience in user support and documentation including requirements writing, data analysis, coordinating and executing user testing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills working with users and developers.
- Proficiency with Tableau, NetSuite/Oracle, Microsoft Office (required), and experience with solutions such as salesforce.com, Zendesk, Arena and Jira (preferred, not required).
Education:
Bachelor’s or equivalent technical degree with a minimum 3+ years of experience in BI systems
