We are leading a revolution in measurement devices for chemical and biochemical analysis. 908 Devices has developed an innovative suite of purpose-built handheld and desktop mass spec devices for the point-of-need. Leveraging our proprietary platform technology, we make the extraordinary analytical power of mass spec available in devices that are significantly smaller and more accessible than conventional laboratory instruments. Our devices are used at the point-of-need to interrogate unknown and invisible materials and provide quick, actionable answers to directly address some of the most critical problems in life sciences research, bioprocessing, industrial biotech, forensics and adjacent markets.  We are reimagining where mass spec technology can be used if it is sufficiently small in size, low in cost, and simple to operate.

908 Devices is headquartered in the Boston Seaport, with satellite facilities in the Bay Area and in North Carolina.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Director to join us in building 908 Devices.  

In this role you will,

·        Own our HR function and build it to serve our employees and support our overall growth

·        Establish best practice initiatives in such areas as communications, recruiting new talent, performance management, training, and career development

·        Develop proactive staffing strategies to recruit and retain top caliber talent

·        Drive the development, execution, and monitoring of our onboarding program

·        Define and work with department managers on employee training and career development

·        Drive our performance management program, including regularly scheduled performance reviews

·        Energize employee relations and help to maintain our culture as we scale

·        Provide guidance to leaders and managers by offering thoughtful coaching and mentoring

·        Stay current on trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies

Your qualifications and attributes,

·        You have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, plus 10 years of work experience in human resource; including capturing metrics, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and employment laws

·        You enjoy and have expertise in developing, executing, and maintaining new HR projects and programs

·        You leverage a collaborative approach with outstanding listening skills and have the ability to manage through influence

·        You thrive in a changing and rapidly growing organization

·        You have a proven track record of delivering premium results and working with multiple stakeholders in a prioritized and systematic way to help solve complex business issues with effective people and talent solutions

·        You are a quick-learning self-starter who is comfortable jumping in and making a difference

·        You pay attention to detail and enjoy employing modern software technologies to increase efficiency

·        You are a strong communicator (written and spoken) and are able to work graciously anyone

·        You are highly adaptable to changing priorities and can adeptly pivot to meet emerging needs in a fast-paced environment
